Critiques Cath Moffat
PD (1) 1. Dosson’s Leggatts Part Time Lover. Smart wheaten male of just 8 months, lively expression with dark eye, wedge shaped head and well set ears, good feet and bone, arched neck leading into a sound front assembly, deep chest with good ribbing, well set and carried tail, liked his overall shape and attitude, he moved out with a free, active gait once settled, RDCC. JD (1) 1. Corin/Camm’s Mazads Nom De Plume. Wheaten male of 13 months, a little too heavy in frame for my preference, erect ears, dark eye, a little loose in front when standing but satisfactory angulation all through, well set and carried tail, his proportions were good and when he settled into his stride he showed some sound movement. OD (1) 1. Shorer-Wheeler’s Ch. Koromandel Tusen Takk (AI) JW. 3 year old wheaten male, full of presence and was absolutely foot perfect, masculine head and expression, he was balanced and accurate on the move, good angles in front and rear with good depth to his chest and correctly ribbed, strong muscular loin, well carried tail, he moved out with an active, free gait, DCC & BOB and pleased to see him shortlisted in a strong Pastoral Group later in the day.
2. Corin/Camm’s Kligenthal Almuric. 4 year old wheaten male with masculine head and expression, lovely eye, high, erect ears, good pigment, not quite the angulation of 1, he had sound proportions and a well set and carried tail, in excellent muscled condition, he moved out well with good stride, presented in lovely coat condition. VD/B (3) 1. Shorer-Wheeler’s Ch. Maidofcopper for Koromandel (imp FIN) JW. A feminine and very happy lady of 9 years who was glad to be here today! Lovely head with dark eye and well set ears, she was balanced with pleasing angles front and rear, good depth and sound body proportions, she was free on the move and had the most beautiful temperament, BV & pleased to hear she was awarded VG4 later in the day. 2. Crocker’s Knytshall Noor Ul Ain. Black of 8½ years old, lean wedge shaped head, melting dark eye and good pigment, well set ears, arched neck into good front angulation, when she settled into her stride she showed some promising movement, shown in ok coat and condition. 3. Norman’s Ch. Arnscroft Delilah at Veekay. PB (1) 1. Crocker’s Leggatts Superstition. Young wheaten bitch of just 8 months, very feminine throughout with dark eye, well set erect ears, lovely alert expression, liked her angulation front and rear, she was sound moving in profile but just a little loose in her rear movement, this will improve as she matures, presented in excellent coat and condition and she was full of confidence, BP. JB (2) 1. Crocker’s Leggatts Superstition. Repeat. 2. Strong’s Draccus I Have A Dream (AI). Black bitch of 14 months, feminine head with the darkest of eye, wedge shaped head with muzzle of correct length, good pigment, arched neck into a good shoulder placement, she wasn’t too happy to be assessed today and was informed she was suffering from a ‘phantom’, when this passes I am sure we will see a more confident youngster. PGB (2) 1. Crocker’s Leggatts Superstition. Repeat. 2. Crocker’s Leggatts Voulez Vous. Black bitch of nearly 6 years where I preferred the proportions of 1, she had a feminine head with a lovely dark eye and well set ears, she had pleasing angles front and rear with a firm top-line, deep chest, good ribs and strong loin, when settled she moved out with an easy, active stride. LB (2) 1. Crocker’s Leggatts Jive Talkin. 2½ year old wheaten bitch with feminine head and expression, dark eye and well set ears, good bone and feet, slightly long but nicely angulated nonetheless, good depth of chest and nicely ribbed, well set and carried tail, she had a strong rear which showed in her movement, presented in lovely condition. 2. Taylor’s Frostisen Blakk Zitter. Another pleasing bitch of 2½ years with some lovely qualities, most feminine head and expression with lovely dark eye, well set ears, good neck into a well placed front assembly, sound in top-line, nothing to dislike, just felt today she didn’t have the freedom in movement as the class winner.
OB (3) 1. Shorer-Wheeler’s Sturtmoors Ffascination with Koromandel. Well presented wheaten bitch of 5 years who was steady and free on the move, feminine head and dark eye, she was a picture on the stand, nicely angulated front and rear, she had ring presence and confidence, correct top-line with well carried tail, liked her very much, BCC. 2. Patrick/Ashman’s Ch. Tapui Starla. Another lovely wheaten bitch of 3 years with some excellent qualities, liked her feminine head and expressive dark eye, well set ears which she used, arched neck leading into a pleasing front assembly and deep chest, good bone and feet, she moved out freely, RBCC. 3. Strong’s Ch. Leggatts Dancing Queen at Draccus.
