Critiques:
Thank you to all exhibitors for giving me such a very good entry for a weekday and an entry of such high quality! Thank you too to both our excellent stewards and the happy appreciative ringside. It is said that owners are like their dogs and indeed that was so true of the Buhunds and their handlers, all being so charming and friendly, the main difference being that the dogs’ top priority would seem to be food and plenty of it!
JD (1) 1 Deuchar’s Rikarlo Gable. Well balanced in the best of coat and hard muscular condition with dark expressive eyes, neat feet, excellent tailset and carriage. A happy, energetic showman, very smooth and accurate on the move. RCC and, it transpired, a worthy son of the BOB winner.
OD (1) 1 Cobb & Kent’s Ch Koromandel Best Served Cold at Knytshall, Just gorgeous! Masculine yet chock full of quality and type, beautifully balanced and so well made all through, in splendid coat and hard condition. Lovely head, ears, eye and expression. Full of himself and his own importance, holding himself proudly, he moved beautifully with good strength of quarters and length to his enduring stride in profile. CC, which I gather to be his 6th & BOB. He went on to represent the breed with pride later in the Group.
VD (3,1) 1 Deuchar’s Ch & Bel Ch Tonylynn’s Charles Lafitte Aw(G) Rl2ex Such a very charming character, in excellent coat and hard condition for his 12 years. Very energetic and vocal! So well balanced with good topline, dark eye, well shaped ears and tail, scoring here on his shoulder and length of stride. A great showman, enjoying himself to the full. BVz 2 Cook’s Arnscroft Di Ablo. A smart fellow with well shaped head. Very accurate on the move, just a touch longer in loin than the winner.
PB (2) 1 Lambert’s Sturtmoor’s Free’n Eezee. Well balanced with lovely feminine head and charming expression, in excellent coat and condition.. Good for make and shape with one of the best tails of the day being tight to the back, she scored on shoulder here. None too happy at being handled at first but soon braved it out and then moved beautifully. Gather later that she, too, was sired by the BOB. BP 2 Rumsey Kata-Syndattir av Fjeldvidda (Imp Nld) Shaded wheaten, a very happy friendly character with feminine head, dark eyes and a good topline. Energetic and enthusiastic if, understandably, still a little babyish in movement at just 7 months but, nonetheless she went so willingly, obviously enjoying herself.
JB (2,1) 1 S Free’n Eezee
PGB (1) 1 Frost, Frost-Treadwell, & Walmsley’s Trelowen Amelia at Frostisen. Lovely dark expressive eyes, in good coat. Happy and willing on the move.
OB (4,1) If only there had been two tickets on offer here! 1 Norman, Hussey & Isaacs’ Ch Arnscroft Delilah at Veekay. Beautiful shaded wheaten, so very feminine, chock full of quality and type. Lovely head and ears with a most intelligent expression in her well shaped eyes, in excellent coat and hard condition. Well made all through with good layback of shoulder, depth of chest, neat feet and tightly curled tail. Very sound and positive on the move with good reach in profile CC, her 4th such award. 2 Garvie’s Ch Rhialis Psyche ShCM Utterly charming and supremely energetic richly coloured wheaten. Beautiful head and eye, so good for make, shape and type with good topline, layback of shoulder and tight tail, in good coat and hard muscular condition. An excellent mover, she went with purpose and length to her stride. My CC winner in ‘15 and indeed so close up here that it was a near impossible choice but one that had to be made. Eventually that little extra sparkle of youth won through. RCC 3 Garvie’s Rhialis Lucina
VB (1) 1 Rumsey’s Ch Arnscroft Di Nah May. Lovely feminine head with a most appealing expression in her dark eyes. Good topline and tailset. Very happy and enthusiastic on the move, holding herself proudly.
