Many thanks to the officers and committee of Richmond championship dog show for inviting me to judge, a dream I have had since a child, thanks also to my wonderful stewards and most of all to all of my exhibitors who have continued to support me over the years it as always was my pleasure. It lifted my heart to see such a wonderful selection of types breed Diversity is such an important thing and judging by the youngsters in this breed exciting times are ahead; I must congratulate all of the breeders on their dedication and commitment to the breed.
VD (2) 1 Hood and Collin’s Ch Arnscroft Di Nah Sawr Us Rex Sh.CM great head and expression, love his shape, lightly built yet full of substance, still at his peak for a veteran dog, very fit, well muscled even second shoulder and thigh muscles were strong, straight line of back with level topline, firm loin, perfect feet, moved well without exaggeration, correct forequarters make for great movement and this lad had a great stride. Pleased to award him CC, BV and BOB. Both breeder BV and owner should be very proud of this wonderful dog lovely to see him short listed in the VG. 2 Deuchars Ch. Bel Ch Tonylynn’s Charles Lafitte AW (G) RL 2 ex. Good head, eye and expression, not as lean as one, beautifully square in profile, pinned slightly on the move, great coat and condition for age, lacking his manhood but I doubt he needed them at his age.
PD (2) 1 Deuchars Rikarlo Gable, what a stunning young man, loved everything about him, active and bustling, lightly built, short compact body, level topline, totally free from exaggeration, movement was compromised which I put down to growing pains, a very bright future ahead, lad just needs time.BP. 2 Sercombes Trelowen Kristopher the only thing that separated 1 from 2 was that this lad was unsettled, I managed to sees a glimpse of movement totally forgiven in such a youngster, it was a pleasure to put my hands over him, for a black he is so well constructed, bone and substance, great head, eye, ears, legs lean and straight, superb body and outline, I can’t wait to watch the future achievement’s from both of these puppies. Repeat of PD 1st Deuchars Rikarlo Gable.
LD (1) 1 Hood Glaholm and Wildings Sturtmoor Eeza Geeza at Bucafrey, nice head and typical expression, nice type, perfect size, moved ok, I would have liked more substance on a positive note he is a dog with great conformation so this can easily be remedied by exercise.
OD (4) 1 Smith’s Ch Arnscroft Never say Di, nothing like the ugly duckling he was way back as a puppy last time I judged him, what a swan he has become; lovely type, strong yet lightly built, definitely fearless, brave and energetic, kept his owner on her toes whilst he told the rest of the class he was the boss, loved his shape, fabulous straight, strong and we’ll muscled forequarters, great hind quarters moderately angulated, not much separated him from my CC winner I just preferred the head of one, this lad was very masculine in facial features compared to the CC winner, a worthy champion. RDCC. 2 Cobb,Cobb and Kent’s Ch Koromandel Best Served Cold at Knytshall. Another nice male, another great type, lovely square dog, lightly built yet full of substance, well able to work, beautiful feet, great tail and set, held himself together when standing, let himself down today on the move. 3 Cook’s Arnscroft Di Ablo.
VB (4) 1 Sercombes IR Ch Tokyn Sequoia reminded me very much of the Buhunds in the 1980/90’s a hardy working job, great bone and substance, beautiful type, lovely head and expression, well muscled one of the fittest today, level topline whilst standing and on the move; correct angulation front and rear, great pigment, good coat, texture and colour, moved very well, pleased to award her BCC I believe this was her third. 2 Cobb,Cobb and Kent’s Ch Trelowen Veryan to Knytshall RL 1 beautiful bitch great type again, free from exaggeration, loved her head and expression, lightly built with good rib, firm loin a lovely square dog, would have liked a stronger front as it was reflected in her movement which was a little weak and she tended to weave. 3 Stonton’s Trelowen Andrea.
SBB (1) 1 Strong’s Leggatts Dancing Queen at Draccus. A future champion without a doubt, so much potential in one so young, great substance for a black, lovely head, eye and fearless expression, ears placed high fabulously mobile, neck moderately arched, short back, square in profile, level topline whilst standing and on the move, immaturity held her back today but she’s got plenty of time and a great future ahead, great to see that she went on to win the SBP Group.
PB (1) 1 Cobb,Cobb and Kent’s Knytshall Eloise, I have been totally spoilt by the quality of the young black dogs and bitches, this girl is no exception, beautiful lightly built well balanced compact body, well angulated front and rear, a little round in the skull at the moment but I put this down to the fact she’s still growing and they never do that in proportion! I see a great future for this lovely girl too, she just needs some confidence and like the other youngsters a little time. Repeat SBB 1st Strong’s Leggatts Dancing Queen of Draccus.
OB (4,1) 1 Norman, Hussey and Isaacs Ch Arnscroft Delilah at Veekay. I have watched this girl since a puppy and she really is great, I love her type one of the best heads, so intelligent in her expression by far the best ears, lovely neck leading into a perfect short level back and onto the most fabulous tail and set, well balanced and moved well, beaten by CC winner by a hairs width. RBCC. 2 Trelowen Dizzy Rascal, beautiful type, lovely head, she and expression, used her well placed ears if she felt like it, nice moderately arched neck, level topline, fabulous rib, good bone and substance, shown in fig condition, moved great, I would have preferred a tighter curl to the tail and today she looked a little long in the body. 3 Cobb, Cobb and Kent’s Knytshall Angel Delight RL 2 ex.
