This was my first CC appointment in this breed. I last judged them at Southern Counties in 2014 and really liked the quality then. I was not disappointed this time either as I had some extremely good dogs in the entry. I would just like to voice a little concern regarding size, which may need some watching. It is also essential that a good Buhund has a square outline, is dry and muscular. He should also be very active and energetic on the move.
V (4) 1. Ch. Arnscroft Di Nah Sawr Us Rex Sh.CM, very pleasing masculine eight year old wheaten veteran shown in great form. Outstanding type. Very much on his toes. His type is very correct. Very square and well balanced. Excellent head with lovely dark eye. Good bone. Correctly angulated rear. Very good tail. Good coat quality. Moved like a youngster. A very worthy champion. Pleased to award him the CC & Best Veteran. Lovely to see him go second in the Pastoral Veteran Group competition. 2. CH. & IR CH. Arnscroft Kiss and Tell Di for Sturtmoor, ten year old very pretty feminine bitch. Such a clever showgirl. Carried herself to advantage despite the hot weather. Very good skull and lovely eye, but could have slightly stronger muzzle. She would also benefit from slightly better bone and feet. Well bodied and moved very well. 3. CH & BEL CH. PD (1) 1. Rikarlo Gable, 9, 5 months old puppy dog of very nice shape and make, but a little on the big side and hopefully will not grow more height. Very pleasing head of correct wedge shape and lovely dark eye. Well bodied, but needs a tad more angulation fore and aft. Moved well in profile, just needs to tighten up a little in front. Well carried correct tail. Best Puppy
JD (1) 1. Rikarlo Gable.
LD (1) 1. Arnscroft Di Ablo, six year old dog on the tall side. Rather heavy overall. Masculine head which is a little strong and he would benefit from darker eye. Good bone. Pleasing neck and topline. Strong rear, but a little restricted in movement. Very good tail and carriage.
OD (3) 1. Ch. Koromandel Best Served Cold at Knytshall, two year old very pleasing male, who needs a little more training to show off his best points. Lovely type and size. Quality masculine head. Needs to firm up a little in front. Correct amount of body. Excellent mover. Good tail. He is very correct in outline and has the desired light build of this breed. Res. CC. 2. Ch. Arnscroft In Di Ana Jack, three year old dog with lovely temperament. Correct size. Excellent head shape, dark eye giving lovely expression. Good bone. Well-made body and quarters. Pleasing going around, but needs to improve a little in front action. 3. CH. Arnscroft Never Say Di
PB (1) 1. Leggatts Dancing Queen, the only black in the entry! 10 month old puppy bitch. Has a white streak in front and a little white on her toes. Nice head shape, excellent dark eye, could have a little more strength in muzzle. Good body, just enough bone. Movement a little difficult to assess and needs more training in this respect.
LB (1) 1. Arnscroft Delilah at Veekay, two year old, very pretty and feminine young bitch shown to perfection. Beautiful head shape, medium brown eye, ear set a little wide. Excellent proportions and type. Balanced angulation fore and aft. Very good tail & carriage. Looked good going around, just needs to settle a little more in front movement.
B (4) 1. CH. Rhialis Psyche Sh.CM, such a lovely quality bitch of outstanding type. Beautiful size and so very feminine. Excellent balance and proportions. Super head with lovely dark eye and correctly set ears. She has excellent bone and tight oval feet. Well-bodied and coat of correct texture. Excellent mover. A very correct and typical Buhund. CC and Best of Breed. I understand this was her 17th CC – so well deserved! 2. Arnscroft Bibbity Bobity Bu, two year old pleasing young bitch. Lovely attitude and very much on her toes. Beautiful type. Very good body and rear, could have a little more front angulation. Moved well going round and behind, but could be a little more positive coming towards you. Res. CC 3.
