The club held its AGM and first Ch show of the year on Saturday 11th April at Bearley Village Hall Stratford-upon- Avon. The day dawned cloudy with a threat of rain which materialised as I drove down the M40,but then eased off as I arrived for the AGM which started at 9.30am.There were reports from our Chairperson Kirsty Anne Irvine,Secretary Jenny Shorer Wheeler and a very detailed financial report from Chris Maynard, I also gave a health report in my position as Breed Health Co-ordinator, these positions stay the same as does the rest of the Committee, Debbie Deuchar is Vice Chair, Lesly Butterworth Membership Secretary, Jacque Cobb who does a fantastic job looking after all the Trophies, Sue Crocker Breed Rescue, Lillian Rumsey who produces two fantastic Bu News each year and Lisa Strong who is in charge of looking after and sorting out the Discover Dogs Display. It was Lisa’s birthday so at lunch time we all sang Happy Birthday to her. There were also thanks to our web master Anne Smith who is in the process of producing a new website for us. There was also a discussion on the shop, and the items people would like to see sold. After the AGM the Points Trophies which were won over last year were awarded. She has though had Buhunds most of her life, as a junior handler she made up Ch Trelowen Bysy at Cristakell (Cristakell is her mother’s affix). Our steward for the day was Steve Bennett who has a real interest in the breed and is passed to award CCs in them, thank you Steve for all your hard work during the day.

After the dogs were judged we had a break during which the Special Awards Classes (SAC)were held, these are for judges who are not yet giving CCs in the breed. There can be 3 classes and are separate from the main show, our judge on this occasion was Gavin Roberston who of course is well known and gives CCs in 80 breeds across all groups. He is a Level 2 Buhund judge, it is great when a well know judge really wants to understand a breed before giving CCs in them.

I finish with many thanks to Nancy Kent who manned the kitchen for the best part of the day and sorted out all the food members kindly brought for the picnic. Nancy also made fantastic toys for all the dogs. Platinum provided bags of food for the main winners and sample packets of food for the classes.
It was a very enjoyable day, and it was great to be able to welcome some new members and their dogs and for those that could not make it there was some live streaming.
