NORWEGIAN BUHUNDS
Just a couple of things before I finish commenting on the Club Ch show held in conjunction with Darlington Ch show, the raffle and club shop took just short of £200, so thank you all for your support. All the dogs received a toy made by clever Nancy Kent, Time still enjoys playing with the toys he has had in the past.

Much further south and west Millie Lambert took her Sturtmoor’s Gon’n Dun It (Gunna)to Exeter & County Canine Society Open show held at The Matford Centre, Exeter where under Mr J Goddard Gunna won Best AVNSC and G3.

On September 7th Sarah Stonton took her two Buhnds, Jack aka Ch Arnscroft In Di Ana Jack and Pixie aka Wheatshade Snow Dreamer to Fosdyke in Lincolnshire for 2 Scentwork Trials, a level 3 for Pixie which she won and gained her Excellence, meaning that she had gained 20 points in trials at that Level and so moves to Level 4.Jack also qualified in Level 9 and was 4th ,so a very good scenting day for them both. A few days later Sarah and Pixie went scenting again this time at Scants Corner in Thetford, for a National Nosework Trial, Pixie’s first Pre Entry Trial which is the second level, she gained a badge for her Vehicles and Exterior searches meaning she found both hides in each search. She is only 16 months so is definitely following in her dad’s searching paw prints.

An update on Lucy Beatrice Gilbert and her Zuki’s aka Leggatts Fly Like An Eagle agility competitions. Over the summer they took part in Watercombe Dog Summer Steeplechase League in Dorset. On 10th September it was the last show of the season, Zuki came 2nd but was given super fancy rosette for coming 1st overall in the league. Many congratulations.
On the evening of Saturday 20th September, Penny and Tom Glibbery took Indy aka Rikarlo Grant and Daisy aka as Tapui Haldis on a trip to London where they became great ambassadors for the breed having many admirers, although some thought they were Shiba Inus! They were also treated like celebrities in Selfridges.

On 8th August 2019 two puppies were born to Ch Maidofcopper For Koromandel JW by Ch Arnscroft Di Na Mo Farrah Of Koromandel (JW)(SHCM). One of them Koromandel Kjaereste went to Germany and became a Deu Ch, the other one Koromandel Kullanmuru (Fanni) went to live with Anna -Leena Laakso in Finland who bred her dam and became a Fin Dual Ch, which meant she had a showing and working title. A couple of weeks ago Fanni qualified for the Championship Final Trial in Traditional Style Herding being one of the ten best traditional style herding dogs in Finland. In the trial she was 2nd a Silver Medallist, she also won the ‘judges prize’ for the most impressive work. What a fantastic result showing with the correct training Buhunds can do what they were bred for. There are some great photos on Anna -Laakso’s Facebook page.

I have 3 clear eye results Jacque & Michael Cobb and Nancy Kent’s Ch Koromandel Best Served Cold At Knytshall (Jamie) by Ch/Can Ch Kyon’s Bold Norseman x Ch Maidofcopper For Koromandel JW VW (Imp Fin). The same owners Leggatts Dakota At Knytshall (Rowdy) by Ch Rikarlo Gable JW x Knytshall Noor Ul Ain & Knytshall Ragged Robin (Toby)by Jamie x Knytshall Eloise, his litter sister Ollie Wheeler’s Knytshall Thistle Ink It Up Koromandel JW (Inky) has an average hip score.
