NORWEGIAN BUHUNDS
Only 3 days after being G3 at Bath Ch show Neil Hood and Julian Collins, Ch Arnscroft Di Nah Sawr US Rex ShCM was G2 at Reading & District Kennel Assoc show under judge Ian Blackshaw, he gives CCs in Australian Cattle Dogs, German Shepherds & Tibetan Spaniels. This 21 Ring show was on the Newbury Showground in the Society’s Building. A very popular show with exhibitors who were staying on site having travelled from Bath to Newbury for Southern Counties Ch show, where pastoral day was Saturday. There was not a large entry but a quality one for judge Reino Korpela from Finland. BB & BOB Millie Lambert’s Sturtmoor Eezee Luvva by Ch Arnscroft Di Na Mo Farrah of Koromandel x Sturtmoor Dream Maker at Gazenorth. RBB & BP Kerry & Fritz Frost, Addrienne Frost-Treadwell and Jacqui Walmsley’s Trelowen Amelia At Frostisen(Bunny) by Ch Trelowen Conar Tun x Trelowen Lola .BD was Di Butler’s Arnscroft Aces High Di Of Telstar also by Conar Tun x Ch Arnscroft Kiss & Tell Di For Sturtmoor. RBD Anne Smith’s Ch Arnscroft Never Say Di by Ch /Am Ch Visions Dino of Trollheimen(Imp USA) x Arnscroft Di Sing On Ice.
Two people that were missing from Southern Counties were Brenda and Tony Bethell. The day before they attended the Bridgend & District Kennel Assoc open show, run by one of the oldest dog clubs in Wales which is over 100 yrs old. This show should have been held on March 4th at the Cwnbran Stadium but was cancelled when the ‘Beast From The East’ struck. They had a very successful day, their Zodiac’s Featuring Fredrik At Taevas Of Minforst (Imp US) was BOB with his daughter Minforst Galadriel winning BB handled by Tony. Mr G Lewis was the replacement judge. Brenda said there were no Group placings, but it was a lovely day. It was great that they were able to find another date for the show.
On the same weekend but much further away across the Irish sea, the Irish KC held two International All Breed Ch shows. Kerry & Fritz Frost had two very successful days, the Munster Canine show was held on the Saturday at Fermoy. Green Star Dog & BOB was their Trelowen Dison he is the older brother of Bunny and is co-owned by Dennis Buckley who uses him as a working sheepdog. Green Star Bitch was their Trelowen Anastasia also by Conar Tun x Trelowen Kyoo. The judge was Mrs Teresa Owens. On the Sunday the Cork & District show was held at Mallow the judge was David McKenna. The results were the same with the Reserve Green Star Dog & BP going to Trelowen Aviator, Bunny’s brother co- owned by Addrienne Frost –Treadwell. Dennis Buckley was very thrilled as these wins made Dison up to an Irish Champion. To be awarded the title of Champion the dog needs seven green stars under seven different judges won at Ch shows and at least one must be gained after the dog is 15 months.
I finish with some shocking news that in California the professional handling team of Amie McLaughlin & Tony Cater have had their new van stolen, with their show team of 14 dogs inside. They had just stopped for something to eat when the van was stolen within 3 minutes. The dogs include the top winning Buhund in the Us, Jotunn Bell Binna who had just been confirmed in pup to Arnscroft Be A Sailors Son Di who was also in the van. He is co owned with Amie, Di Stirling and Joy Arney Fowler. A large reward has been offered so we can only pray and hope this works, and that they will all be found safe and well very soon. There have been over 6,000 shares on Face Book so hopefully the van will become too hot to handle.
