I would like to thank the committee of the above society for inviting me to judge at this prestigious championship show, in its new location. I was immediately made to feel at home and thoroughly enjoyed my judging experience. I would like to show my gratitude to the exhibitors for bringing their delightful dogs for me to go over. Finally, I must say that my stewards were very efficient and managed to maintain a high level of humour throughout. V (2,0) 1 Crocker’s Leggatts Voulez Vous : This 7 year-old bitch had a square outline and was lightly built. She had a compact body and was well-balanced on the whole. Her head was fairly broad between the ears and her muzzle tapered both vertically and horizontally. Her eyes were dark brown and had a fearless expression. Her ears were both pointed and erect. Her neck was medium in length and moderately arched. Her legs were straight, with tight elbows. Her body was short and strong, with firm loins. Her rear legs were moderately angulated and her feet were small. Her gait was consistent around the ring and she was particularly straight on the out and in. 2 Crocker’s Knytshall Noor Ul Ain : This 9 year-old bitch had a medium sized square body. The back of the head was flat and the muzzle was medium in length. Her eyes were dark and her lips were tight. She had strong jaws and a correct scissor bite. Her neck was lean and moderately arched. Her elbows remained close to the body. Her chest was moderately deep and she had good ribs. There was a slight draw-up. Her rear legs were straight from the rear. Her tail was set high and was thick and curled. I preferred the overall build and movement of #1. L (2,0) 1 Lambert’s Sturtmoor’s Gon’n Dun It JW : This 16 month-old dog was medium-sized, with a compact body. His head was lean and broad between his ears. His muzzle was of medium length. His ears were erect and mobile. His dentition was complete and he had a scissor bite. His lean neck was both of medium length and moderately arched. His legs were strong beneath tight elbows. He had a level topline, with a deep chest and short couplings. His rear legs were moderately angled and appeared straight from the rear. His tail was set high and carried over his back. His gait was light and active, with a good stride. I felt he was more convincing as a dog than his competitor was as a bitch. 2 Crocker’s Leggatts Superstition : This 20 month old bitch was lightly built and fairly well balanced. The back of her head was flat and her muzzle was of medium length and tapered in both planes. Her lips were tight and her eyes were dark. Her ears were set high and were pointed. The dentition of her mouth was complete. Her neck was medium in length and moderately arched. Her deep chest was well ribbed. Her rear legs were strong and moderately angled, with small feet. Her movement was light and agile from the side. Her coat was harsh and smooth. She competed well against the dog, who won marginally. OD (1,0) 1 Shorer-Wheeler’s Ch Koromandel Tusen Takk (Ai) JW ShCEx OSW : This 4 year-old dog impressed immediately, with its square outline and physical maturity. Its body was compact and well-balanced. It was certainly energetic and had a fearless expression. Its lean head was broad between the ears and its muzzle tapered in both planes. Its correctly fitting eyes were dark brown. His erect ears were set high. The jaws were strong. His lean neck was moderately arched. He had a level topline, with firm loins. The rear legs were strong and moderately angled. The tail was thick and set high. His feet were small, oval and had tight toes, which particularly helped him on the move, where it was particularly obvious that the movement was generated completely by the dog, who seemed to be enjoying every moment. He was a very worthy BOB! OB (3,1) 1 Taylor’s Frostisen Blakk Zitter : This 3 year-old bitch stood out against her much younger opposition. She was lightly built and reasonably well-balanced. Her head was lean and flat at the rear. Her eyes were dark brown and her erect ears were set high. Her neck was of medium length. Her front legs were straight and strong. The elbows were tight to the body. The body, too, was strong and had a deep chest. The rear legs were moderately angled and were straight from the rear. Her feet were oval in shape. She remained straight on the ‘out and in’ and her movement was generally light and active. 2 Shorer-Wheeler’s Knytshall Thistle Ink It Up Koromandel : This 15 month-old bitch had a square outline and was lightly built. Her body was quite compact. Her head was lean and her muzzle was medium in length and tapered both vertically and horizontally. Her eyes were dark brown. Her strong jaws had full dentition and a scissor bite. Her legs were straight, with tight elbows. Her body was strong, with short couplings and a slight draw up. Her tail was set high and carried over the back. Her coat was smooth. I preferred the build and movement of the other bitch on this occasion, but this young bitch has plenty of potential.
