Critiques:
VD (1) 1 Ch Arnscroft Di Nah Sawr Us Rex VW ShCM. Top quality 11 yr old in total denial of his age. Although the first class of the day, I felt that he would be a contender in the males. Lovely outline and balance with easy, light movement in all directions. Good head properties with well set ears, alert expression and not overdone in any way. Firm, level topline running into pleasing set of tail which was tightly curled. Not surprised to see that he is a Ch. Looked the part in the challenge but against the younger dogs, he was possibly a little heavier than them. BVIB.
PD (1) 1 Tapul Let’s Blaze. Delightful 6 month who is remarkably mature for his age, without being overdone. Lovely headpiece and eye, good ear set and carriage. Level topline and super tailset with well curled tail. Moved well away and in profile but still a little loose coming to at this telling age. So much going for him and on potential I imagine he has a successful future. BPIB.
YD (2) 1 Kligenthal Almuric. Littermates, I see, and both having similar qualities in construction. First was in ‘showing mode’ and, despite being a little out of coat, tipped the balance between the two today. Loved his overall balance and squareness with the characteristic ‘lightness’ without being weedy. So impressed with his straight front which was always obvious when he came to a halt after his easy movement in all directions. Tail was really the icing on the cake. 2 Kilgenthal Bran Mak Morn. While this one had so many of his brother’s qualities, he is a little more raw and took a while to settle to the job. Lovely head and eye with well shaped ears (which were particularly mobile as he paid attention to everything outside the ring!). After a few attempts, I saw glimpses of a nice dog in the making – rear movement was particularly impressive.
PGD (1) 1 K Bran Mak Morn. Typically, he had settled more in this class. A very nice youngster who needs a bit more practice to bring the best out in him. Well done to his handler.
LD (2) 1 Ch Rikarlo Gable JW. Such a lovely example of the breed and looked right from all angles. Well balanced with excellent topline, double curled tail, medium angulation and possessed of lightness of gait which he demonstrated out and back. Head properties so attractive with typical alert expression and beautiful eye. Correct depth of chest. Was possibly a fraction heavier under loin if I am to pick holes. In his summer coat (and who can blame him) but within a whisker of top honours. RCC. 2 Strurtmoor Eeza Geeza At Buhcafrey. Another good topline was evident here. Liked his overall proportions and moderate/correct angulation. Attractive head with pleasing skull to muzzle proportions and excellent height to width ratio of ears. Moved well enough with a light gait but had a tendency to hold his head to one side which detracted very slightly from the overall impression.
OD (1) 1 Ch Koromandel Best Served Cold At Knytshall. Super 4 yr male who pretty well has it all! Such a well made chap with a gorgeous head, ears and eye. Alertness and maturity gave him something extra in this company today. Excellent topline, correct foot shape, good balance of body length to height, and chest depth to height. Coat quality at its best too. Movement was brisk, light and effective. Hard to fault this guy. CC and BOB.
Sp Beginners D/B (1) 1 Kilgenthal Almuric. Repeat. B Sp Beg.
VB (1) 1 Ch Trelowen Veryan To Knytshall Rl1. Rising 13 and if I were to take one home with me, it would be this cheeky girl! Full of it – knows what she wants and how to ensure she gets it! Such an attractive head with well set ears, alert dark eyes, and ears of good ratio. Showing a bit of age in coat, dentition and, to a degree, in movement, but her construction is still there and I can see why she has her title.
PGB (1) 1 Leggatts Voulez Vous. This black girl had the most impressive coat with correct texture and depth. Her colour tends to create a ‘little black dress’ illusion and makes her appear finer than she is but her body proportions are good and her angulation is spot on. Moved so very well with a light effortless gait. Possibly could have a tad wider skull and more even tapering of muzzle, but ear size and set was very good.
LB (1) 1 Sturtmoor Free’n Eezee. 2 yrs with huge appeal. I saw later she was sired by the DCC and she definitely is showing the resemblance with her super headpiece, excellent topline, well set and tightly curled tail and moved in great style. Despite the resemblance, she is undoubtedly feminine with the appropriate body ratios for her gender. On the move she really upped her game with a no-nonsense, light, efficient gait. Scored particularly in angulation which was just the right degree of moderation. In the challenge against the male, his show-off-iness was the only thing that tipped the balance. BCC.
OB (3) 1 Ch Arnscroft Delilah At Veekay. Two quality but quite different types. The first thing that hits you with this one is her balanced outline with good head and excellent ears. Well constructed especially front on. Correct level topline and tail was spot on. On the move she really put all into it and showed lightness and effortlessness. To pick minor holes, although she had moderate angulation, I thought she could have benefited from a tad more behind although this didn’t have any bearing on her excellent gait. RCC. 2 Ch Maidofcopper For Koromandel (Fin Imp). Last judged this one as a puppy and she has developed as her promise indicated. A little over enthusiastic (which is always good to see but sometimes challenging for a judge!) and took her time to settle into her best gait. Very impressive in build with excellent head, expression and ears. Tail showing the ideal position of following the line of the centre of the spine before a neat tight curl. While I slightly faulted first on a minor lack of angulation, in this one I would like to see a tad less in her hind quarters as it can create illusions in her topline. 3 Knytshall Noor Ui Ain.
