Critiques:
It was an honour and a privilege to be invited to judge my beloved breed here at Richmond, giving CCs for the very first time after being in Norwegian Buhunds for nearly thirty years. The exhibitors were very sporting and friendly, making my morning very enjoyable. It was an uncharacteristically hot and humid September day, so myself and exhibitors were grateful of being first in the ring at nine.
JD (1) 1 Kent & Cobb & Cobb, Leggatts Dakota At Knytshall. A handsome 14 month old black, beautiful head with dark eye, alert and kind expression, erect and mobile ears, in good coat and condition, firm topline, tail correctly set and a lovely curl. Good side gait and moved well enough coming and going, I feel just needs time for this to strengthen. One to watch for the future.
PGD (1) 1 Langford, Frostisen Zeffer NAF. Wheaten youngster of 19 months, lovely head and expression with dark eye, nice firm topline which he held on the move. In good coat and condition, tail set correctly with a good curl. Another to watch for the future I feel.
LD (1) 1 Owens, Leggatts Night Fever. Beautiful black, maturing nicely. Lovely headpiece with kind expression and dark eye. Well up for size, moved well with a flowing side gait. In excellent coat and condition and well muscled. Very attentive to his handler who got the best out of him. Pushed very hard for the RCC.
OD (3) A lovely class to judge. 1 Kent & Cobb & Cobb, Ch Koromandel Best Served Cold At Knytshall. Wow, what a boy! In his prime, this wheaten oozes breed type and is full of quality. Lovely head with smiling expression, dark eye and erect mobile ears. Excellent topline which he held on the move, moving with drive and purpose. In hard condition, well muscled and good coat. Neat feet, very nice curl of tail and correctly set. Challenged his owner when standing to be gone over but forgiven due to the warmth. Thrilled to award him my first CC and BOB. 2 Corin & Camm, Kligenthal Almuric. A lovely wheaten boy of 4 years, maturing nicely. A slightly different type to 1st, being slightly finer built. He has a lovely head and expression, very good ring presence and in good body condition. Good coat, neat feet, nicely curled tail correctly set. Moved very well with a light but strong stride. Handled to advantage. RCC. 3 Dosson, Kligenthal Bran Mak Morn.
VD (2) Two gorgeous ladies of seven years young. 1 Lambert, Sturtmoor’s Eezee Luvva. Lovely wheaten with sweet expression, good head, erect and mobile ears. Good topline, coat and condition. Not the tightest of tails but correctly set. Moved out well and with drive. Slightly longer cast than 2nd but won on her movement. Well handled. Best Veteran. 2 Crocker, Knytshall Noor Ul Ain. Beautiful black with a lovely square outline. Lovely head and dark eye. In good coat, just a tad heavier in body condition today than 1st. A tightly curled tail set correctly. Moved well.
PGB (2) 1 Crocker, Leggatts Jive Talkin. A lightly built, feminine wheaten of 19 months. Beautiful head and expression with dark eye and erect mobile ears. A square outline, good topline and tail, in lovely coat and body condition. Very attentive to handler which showed when standing and moving. Moving with elegance and drive. Very pleased to award her the RCC. 2 Taylor, Frostisen Black Zitter. A lovely black with nice head and dark eye. Good topline and curl of tail set correctly, neat feet, good coat, moving well. Looking slightly longer cast here today than 1st.
OB (2) 1 Strong, Leggatts Dancing Queen At Draccus. A beautiful mature black, lovely type with square outline, holding a good topline, lovely curl to tail and correctly set. In excellent condition with a gleaming black coat which shone in the sun. Flowed round the ring, moving with purpose and drive. Well handled, although she made her handler work hard for her well deserved CC which made her up today. Well done. 2 Norman, Ch Arnscroft Delilah at Veekay. Lovely wheaten, six years young. Very nice wedge head with a dark eye, erect ears used well. Lovely curl to tail, set correctly. Has neat feet and in good coat and condition. Moved out well, just ever so slightly longer cast than 1st. A worthy champion.
