Critiques:

I always enjoy judging this breed as despite it being one of the numerically smaller ones, the quality is always high, and the Exhibitors are very sporting with good support for the winners. PD (1:0) 1. Dosson & Dosson’s Leggatts Part Time Lover; A 9 month old and his head is developing nicely. Lean, good wedge shape and well balanced with dark eye & pointed ears which are well set. Medium length of neck, well set into a good shoulder. Front is ok for his age and will no doubt tighten up as his chest fills out. Square in outline with well-set tail and good rear angulation. Presented in nice puppy coat and when settled he moved ok. BPD. OD (3:0) 1. Shorer-Wheeler’s Ch Koromandel Tusen Takk (ai) JW; A 3 year old who excels for breed type, he is of a good size and is very masculine in all respects. He has matured nicely since I last judged him as a puppy. He has a good head with dark eye and erect, pointed ears which are well set. Medium length of neck, well set into his very good shoulders Front is good and he has plenty of chest now that he has filled out and the elbows fit closely to the body. Square in profile with well-set tail and good rear angulation. This dog really comes into his own on the move as he exhibits good length of stride with a true footfall. He also has great ring presence and looks completely at home both in the breed ring and also in Group competition. BD & BoB. Congratulations, he is a pleasure to judge. 2. Corin & Camm’s Ch Kligenthal Almuric; A 4 year old male with balanced wedge shaped head, dark eye and nicely set ears. Reasonable neck and straight front. Mature shape to body, good topline, correct hindquarters and well curled tail. As most exhibits were today he was presented in a nice harsh coat. Moved well, but I just preferred the more masculine size and smoother movement of the winner overall. RBD. 3. Dosson & Dosson’s Kligenthal Bran Mak Morn. PB (1:0) 1. Crocker’s Leggatts Superstition; A very sweet 9 month old with a feminine expression. She has a good head with a dark eye and nice ears. Neck and shoulders are ok, and her chest is developing well for her age. Good rear angles and presents a nice outline, with a tight tail. Presented in nice coat and condition. When settled she showed reasonable movement, but needs to tighten up a little in the rear. A puppy who shows lots of promise. BPB & BPIB. JB (1:0) 1. Crocker’s Leggatts Superstition; First in PB. OB (3:1) 1. Shorer-Wheeler’s Sturtmoors Ffascination With Koromandel; A 5 year old feminine bitch with a balanced head, good eye colour and well placed ears. Very good neck and shoulders. Good hindquarters and well set tail. She has a harsh coat and was presented in lovely condition. Would prefer a slightly more compact outline as she appears a touch long in body, but this is more than made up for by her movement which was very clean and precise and this won her both the class and BB. 2. Taylor, Taylor & Taylor’s Frostisen Blakk Zitter; A 2.5 year old very sweet female with the prettiest of wedge heads and well set pointed ears. Balanced angulation front and rear with the neck well set into a level topline. Straight front and square outline in profile. Tail set is very well placed and tightly curled. Coat was harsh and presented in good condition. Still needs to fill out in chest a touch as she is just a little loose in elbow at present. Movement was positive with good length of stride. VB (3:0) 1. Crocker’s, Knytshall Noor Ul Ain; An 8 year old who certainly does not look her age. She presents nice breed attributes, and her head is well balanced throughout. She has a very good neck and straight front, good depth to chest and a level topline. Rear angulation is good, and this completes her compact outline. She was very smooth on the move which gave her the class over 2 other lovely veteran girls. RBB & BVIB 2. Shorer-Wheeler’s Ch Maidofcopper For Koromandel (Fin Imp) JW; A 9 year old. Another I have judged before and like a lot, as she is a bitch of good breed type. Very appealing head with a lovely feminine expression and correct eye colour and ear shape. Medium length of neck set onto good shoulders and a straight front. Nicely bodied with a good topline and nicely angulated to rear. Well curled tight tail and presented in lovely condition with a coat of a harsh texture. Today she was a bit unsettled on the move which was reflected in the placings. 3. Taylor-Smith’s Ch. Ailort Just In Time.
